Emission of smoke or dust may occur due to a fault of a motor or an amplifier used in combination. For example, if the system is energized with the regenerative control power transistor shorted by failure, overheating of a regenerative resistor installed outside the amplifier may occur and it may emit smoke and dust. If a regenerative resistor is connected outside an amplifier, provide a means of detecting overheating such as a thermal protector to shut off power upon detecting abnormal heating. Mount the motor, the amplifier and the peripheral devices on a noncombustible material such as metal.
